DIFF GOO

High-Tack Differential Grease

A little goo. Another way to tune.

Extremely high-tack grease for tuning the resistance of an unsealed gear differential. Choose how freely you want the differential to operate.

Blue — medium resistance. Start with Blue for medium resistance and comparatively freer differential action than Orange.

Blue-colored grease.

Diff Goo gives racers and hobbyists another way to adjust differential action in an unsealed gear differential. Choose a grade based on how much resistance you want, then work with the application amount as you learn your setup.

The extreme tack helps the grease cling to the gears and stay inside unsealed gear differentials better than some commonly used alternatives. That same stickiness makes cleanup difficult, especially with Orange. Choose Blue for medium resistance or step up to Orange for high resistance.

Choose your goo.

Two grades. A clear direction.

Medium resistance

Diff Goo Blue

Start with Blue for medium resistance and comparatively freer differential action than Orange.

Blue-colored grease.

High resistance

Diff Goo Orange

Step up to Orange for high resistance when you want more restriction than Blue.

Clear/translucent grease. Orange identifies the grade and label color.

How it works

The tacky grease creates resistance to relative motion between the internal gears while still permitting differential action. Grade, amount, and placement affect the resulting resistance.

What you get

  • 10 g of Diff Goo in a metal tin, in your selected grade
  • A small applicator for working grease onto the gears

From tin to diff.

Work carefully with the applicator: this grease is extremely sticky and difficult to clean off, particularly Orange.

  1. Start with a clean differential.
  2. Apply the grease to the internal differential gears. Amount and placement affect resistance.
  3. Rotate and work the gears during assembly to distribute the grease.
  4. Tune by changing grade and/or application amount as experience dictates.

Check your differential

Intended for unsealed gear differentials. Check your model’s differential design and service guidance before use; compatibility has not been established for every RC differential.

Diff Goo is not a replacement for silicone differential oil in sealed oil-filled differentials.
